FORREST BATHING (SHINRIN-YOKU)
Together with daily yoga practice, our programme includes focussed breathwork to support harmonious functioning of the whole being and enhance your experience of tranquility and inner peace. Daily meditation is integrated with morning yoga practice or forest walking. Cold water swimming provides further opportunity to focus on the breath. Conscious breathwork practice and pranayama sessions, are led by experienced guides, which are included in our transformative retreat packages.
Breathwork can be a profound and transformative practice that helps reduce acute stress responses within the body. Exercises are focussed on deep and rhythmic inhalations and exhilations, helping to regulate your nervous system and improve physiological responses to stress. This includes helping to reduce blood pressure, as well as improving your mental clarity, physical performance and recovery.
Ice bathing or cold water exposure has been used as a healing method for many centuries. An ice bath can soothe muscles, reduce inflammation, improve breathing, and boost your mental health and healing.
